I work very hard all year long and one very awesome perk to teaching is being able to spend time with my children! In the past two weeks I've been able to spend so much time with them and watch them grow and learn so much just in that short amount of time. Jackson took swimming lessons with Dena last week and attended bible school. This week we took it a little slower and relaxed around the house and Jackson started his first soccer practices! We also visited the library.
Jackson conquered his fear of the water this week and jumped off the diving board thanks to Dena who had to deal with him screaming and crying from the deep end. But he transformed into a kid who was begging to go off the diving board and it was a proud mommy moment! Bible school was also a big hit and because he was so tired from swimming all day he was great and listened.. It was especially important that he listened to his music teacher which was me! They had a great performance at church on Sunday!
This week was relaxed and I let the kids play around the house while I caught up on some dvr and netflix. (Super mom I know!)
We had our first soccer practice and Jackson looks like a natural out there on the soccer field even though he has never played. ( he must take after his mommy/ better feet coordination that hand eye). Today we visited the library and checked out books. Jackson got to go inside the tent and feed butterflies. This entertained him for about 3 seconds!
In the past two weeks I've watched Daphne as she has grown and become stronger. She is pulling up on everything and so busy! She is becoming so vocal and loves watching and playing with her big brother. She now has 3 teeth which she seemed to get all at the same time. Another amazing mommy moment I'm not really sure which month and which ones came first! But the top left one is slowly making it's way all the way out for a total of three teeth at 11 months. While Daphne is getting new teeth Jackson lost his first baby tooth. And he got 3 dollars from the tooth fairy (daddy) that wasn't even sparkly or in a fancy bag! I don't know who was more excited Jackson or the tooth fairy!
Daphne has been saying mama and dada since abou 8 months but her new word is woof woof when she sees a dog. She is learning sign language and she knows more and finished... We are working on bird and thank you. Both of my children amaze me every day!
It's been a great two weeks and I can't wait to spend the rest of the summer with my babies. Going to spend my evenings with my glass of wine and Jennifer Weiner.
