We embarked on our first Zoo trip as a family on memorial weekend! We had lots of fun!
We began in Africa where Jackson looked at the giraffe for about two seconds and then was more interested in the binoculars that take your quarters.
We continued on to the lions who were moving a little more than usual. They are such a majestic creature. We also went into the African pavilion and saw the baboons. We continued into North America where the grizzly bear was chilling in the pool it was the coolest thing. My phone was dead so no picture!
We spent some time in the stream side where my inner environmental educator felt the need to teach Jackson to identify copperheads. The copperhead and eastern diamond back rattlesnake were side by side. It was kind of strange.
The polar bear must have been too hot because he was hiding but we did see the seal swimming around and I think that was Daphne's favorite part. She slept through most of the trip. Jackson's favorite was the puffins.
Jackson also played in the kids zone. He looked forward to this the whole time. They have a tree house and a creek for the kids to play in I really like the new outdoor focus that is being out into education. It was a lot of walking especially after I had ran 4 miles that morning but it was a very nice time. We bought a membership so we will be visiting more this summer. Riding that tram is not an option with Daphne if I am alone.
